Student Lifestart

A project in partnership with Virgin Money and Virgin LifeStart, I was lucky to be part of this incredible project from the Oct 2017 until April 2019. Our goal was to engage students, encouraging them to enter into challenges and learn real-life business skills, whilst having opportunities to win money, internships and trips to America.

Challenge partners included; JCDecaux, Virgin Galactic Unite, Samsung, Sony Pictures, and Virgin Money Giving. With winners being offered full-time employment, as well as building an active online community via email and Facebook and organising day long university events, called 'LifeStartFests' in London and Bangor.

I was part of the project from launch, joining in my final year of study. My role included everything from social media management and strategy, online presenting, event hosting and moderating, copy-writing, editing, filming, interviews etc.

Although the decision was taken to close the website, I learnt a huge amount from working on the project and I am enthusiastic of finding projects like this in the future!

You can read a selection of the blog-posts I wrote for the site via Writing but I also managed the social media strategy, our student reporters as well as presenting and producing video content.
